| | it's a little strange to post something on a forum and then insult the people you want to read your article. Maybe studying harmony less and PR more would be a good idea. |

| | It's not a totally bogus concept... looks like simple modal interchange, neighboring keys, and parallel keys/colors. Nothing new as I can tell. My ears are as good as anyone's; listen and decide if it sounds good. |

| | I have listened to some of Domina's music on her myspace page - I have to say I like it, to my ears there is real substance and meaning there, and not a little talent. And I'm not generally a fan of things "new age" either. Admittedly a funny way to start a thread though, and I guess she is not reading any of this anyway! The GOFOH is kind of interesting, though with that sort of stuff, I sometimes wonder what practical help it is for making music. Will still check out part 2 though when she posts that.
EDIT: obviously I meant to put GUFOH, not GOFOH...

| | Jack Z's "dodecaphonics" is a little more organized presentation of the same (or similar) concept, IMHO. |

| | She actually had a pretty good and glowing review and interview thing on some jazz mag, maybe Just Jazz or something of the sort. There's some kind of lesson here. Maybe- hand grenades have feelings but it's all in the way you express yourself that people will remember you.
... and that is my theory...

One of the tragedies, Helen, actually has a happy ending.
But what is really striking about this from the point of view of tragedy is how key events take place off stage.
As someone who has watched musicians from a close distance for a long time, I am hard pressed to think of a more uptight group of people as a whole (maybe doctors!), so it is pretty comical to see the uptightest of the uptight.

no not really. some Americans are just saying it wrong. some still say it right. logic still applies my friend.
you see, if one could care less it means that they care. if they couldn't care less it means that they don't care.
when someone uses that expression, they are really just saying that they don't care. |

Another favourite Americanism is "literally" meant not to be taken literally. ex (I heard this yesterday): He was so mad he literally bit my head off.
I had to look, and it seemed her head was still intact.

David | There ought to be a jail sentence for it. Actually, it is literally nonsense. Using "decimate" to mean annihilate was bad enough, but people who use "literally" like that are just showing that they are terrible listeners and hence will likely have little to say that is interesting. I take it as a reliable avoid sign. There is probably nothing worse one can do with words. I'm not sure that is an Americanism. Perhaps. But the language is in tatters on both sides of the Atlantic. Breaking rules is one thing. Being unaware of them is another. And nearly ubiquitous I'm afraid. |

| | Before we give the OP any more of our time, I suggest you all click this link here and read from the beginning down to Domina's post.
That comment says all you need to know about this wanker. I don't care if a theory sounds like something useful or not, DC is a self-serving, irritable, mean-spirited hack who will never make it further than her internet fantasyland, because she's forgotten one of the most important rules of the music business...occaisonally, a little humility just might get you the call back...
You all can continue to discuss if you want, but each post adds more results when Domina googles herself every morning. http://www.jazzguitar.be/forum/showc...e-youtube.html

Perhaps doesn't say much good about myself, but I must admit I'm intrigued, so please could you put the link up? | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
