Hi , im looking for some explanation how to use chromatic passages in solos , i'll be glad if someone could redirect me to some site or a book that deals with this subject.
I am a harmonic player. So, to me, chromaticism is there to bring out the harmony. You use it to approach chord tones or or to connect them. Some more modern players use them more freely, but I never liked that sound. My web site has a "lick of the month" section where you can see how I use chromatic notes.
