Wes Montgomery problems reading this partiture

I am working in "April Kisses" by Eddie Lang http://www.eddielang.com/images/2010...nscription.pdf

I can read notes, but I dont understand what does some expressions mean, for example like gliss or hold chord.
Do you know where can i find information of how to read this kind of expressions in partitures?

Glissando means to move rapidly from one note to the next.Notice the symbol next to the words hold chord that is a fermata(hope i have spelt it right as im currently working through my music theory exams)and they have allready told you what it means.Any good music theory book should tel you these things or you could always look it up on the internet of course, but its much more fun to discuss it on here of course.bye for now.(best go check my books to make sure ive got those right).

A gliss. (short for glissando) is a note that you play and then slide your finger (somewhat) quickly along the string so that each note can be heard in between.

The "hold chord" at the end of line 2 just means that you are going to fret the entire chord and pick through the notes without letting go, letting it ring.

Here's a good place to start for general musical terms:

Glossary of musical terminology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

After a while you just get used to them.

Peace,
Kevin

On scribd platform you can find a "Essential Dictionary of music notation", which seemed very complete to me.
I don't know if it is legal or not, but at least it is not on wikileaks!

A good source for music terms, etc:
Virginia Tech Multimedia Music Dictionary
It's multimedia and not just a dictionary with meanings.
