Default N Track vs Reaper - Your vote?

I'm about to spring for one of these two recording softwares for my laptop. If you have experience comparing or working with either of these, I'd like your opinion.

I've done quite some work in reaper, and it's a very nice app!
Easy to work, good quality, treats sound much better than for example garageband, which is very good for working with sequencing and midi stuff, but for recording live instruments I think reaper is very much more true to the original sound. Another plus for reaper is it doesn't use as much of the computer's resources, it's rather lean for the mac, or pc or whatever.
Peace
Skei (the really like reaper one)

Default Informative Answer

I told myself whichever one I could get sounds from first would get my piggy bank holdings. Reaper won. Thanks for your input, too.

well, as I understand it, logic pro is a lot more advanced, or? Reaper is very good, and intuitive, but logic pro, that's some sort of more pro version of garageband I believe. Reaper is very good indeed, the only one I've tried that's easier and gives better guitar sound is ableton live. Which is expensive, though.
Try reaper, if you like it and want to continue using it, then pay for it to support the business, development, etc.
garageband is very good soundwise, but to get a good level I have to use audacity for a final boost with a dyson compressor, the only way to get a pro level I have found. But then I'm only a beginner, should discuss it with some more pro studio folks.
Peace
Skei (the reaper one)

Time goes by. I've paid for Reaper. I believe it is an excellent value. I'm learning its nuances slowly. It is, as near as I can tell, an excellent program but I don't have anything to compare it to.

WOW! I have used most DAWS's and settled with Sonar (Currently on 8.5) but I have always been looking for a light weight DAW for quick scetch projects! Thanks to this thread I found one! REAPER! downloaded and give it a test drive! Quite simply put its brilliant! Deos everything I need plus It instantly recognised and installed all my favorite plugins from Sonar! Also there is very little CPU load!

REAPER ROCKS... Thanks guys.

Last word... Man its only 4Mbytes and installs any where off my memory stick! Perfect.

Thanks guys

Eddie
