| | Hank Garland sheet music book Hello, I am a part time transcriber and am currently working on a transcription of hank garlands 'velvet guitar' album. The album by itself is out of print but all songs can be found on his complilation 'the guitar artistry of hank garland'. This contains such jazz classics as 'Scarlet Ribbons (For Her Hair)', 'Polka Dots and Moonbeams', "Ed's Place' and 'Autumn Leaves'. I would just like to get some idea of what everyone thinks of this and how popular it would be. Let me know what you think everyone!

Hmmm, so actually your post is just a spam to promote something you want to sell... too bad. Hope you will join the forum in a more constructive way too, by offering insights and sharing your thoughts just for the love of the jazzguitar, since that's what makes it so great. People who want to sell stuff can be found all over the net already........ |

| | No, the fellow above was not asking for some "info" about the price of your damned book, He was asking if you were going to post some of this material here on the fprum gratis, as a form of contribution to the forum. One of the worst kinds of spam I have run across in the entire internet I think is JAZZ SPAM. It's almost like a contradiction of the whole phenomenon of jazz. Get off!!
Anything I write, I will post freely on this forum or other places. |

| | No, I didn't quite say that now did I?
If you ONLY want to use a forum like this to sell your wares, then you are basically spamming and not contributing. That's all. It a forum, which comes from the Latin notion of the "fora" where people openly discuss, debate and share ideas.

| | I completely understand where you're coming from an sorry if I came off as rude. I guess I should of went about this in a different way, but I did put alot of time into this and feel I deserve to be paid for it. I would like to contribute to this site as well and I plan on posting links to free transcriptions in the future. |

| | Oh, that's alright. Now that I think on the matter a little more carefully. Money is not such a bad thing after all for people like us, eh? Hmm...... I shall have to consider this question of money more carefully perhaps.... |

| | Well, I took a chance, and bought it last night; it was sent right away as a PDF, very clearly notated and tabbed (though not normally a fan of tab, it is very useful as there are some unexpected fingerings) and this is an all-around great book. Highly recommended. I have been playing thru it today and going "hmmmm....hmmmmm......hmmmmm.....all afternoon. |
