Help blues guy getting into a bit of jazz. 2 songs in particular

been meaning to get into jazz sice my blues band has been doing more and more west coast style blues and i have been listening to older jazz/blues guitar players like oscar moore and tiny grimes and bill jennings.

been looking at these two songs in particular, which my singer wants to cover:

1) tiny grimes' Romance without finance
YouTube - John Nemeth Blues Band

2) money must think i'm dead by little charlie and the nightcats
Amazon.com: Money Must Think I'm Dead (#2): MP3 Downloads: Little Charlie & The Nightcats

am clueless how 1 would go about covering these songs.

any help for a complete jazz noob like me?

Your question is so general it's very difficult to answer, it's almost as though you are asking 'how do I play jazz'? You can't expect a simple answer or any answer at all as that would be to much to expect someone to write... it would take a book or books.

Some things that come to mind

1) Transcribe what those guitarists are playing and play exactly like them or then vary it to make it your own.

2) This book would probably be real useful to learn how to play jazzy blues...

Good suggestions, but don't listen to sunnyjones -- spambot.

It's been a while since I've played Romance, but I think I just simplified to a basic blues progression with a few passing chords. IIRC there are some instructional vids on youtube of Duke Robillard and others teaching jump blues and other blues/jazz styles.
