Help Chet Atkins - Humoresque

YouTube - Humoresque II - Chet Atkins - Gretsch Fingerstyle
YouTube - Humoresque I - Chet Atkins - Gretsch Fingerstyle
YouTube - Chet Atkins "Humoresque"

Can anyone here teach me how to play this? They play so fast I can't figure things out.

Really love this arrangement. Thanks!

Kew

What standard are you at currently? Do you have any classical, bluegrass background?
(After watching that first clip and seeing how good that girl was I'm just glad you didn't find my Chet clip on YouTube!!)

Help

Thanks you are a kind soul. Maybe I did found your Chet video haha.

Well I self taught my guitar, I can play but don't have much theory background, which means I am used to figure things out through online or friends.

I am new to fingerstyle, so I'm thinking it'll be really nice if you can tell me what kind of chords is used in the song, and I can figure out the melody part and combine them by myself... Does that make any sense to you haha?

I found a transcription of it. It is in .tef format so if you don't have a TablEdit viewer, you will need the second link to download one of them.

My Chet video got some very polite comments from two brothers in Malaysia who post on YT as The Gombak Hillbillies. They do a nice version of a Doc Watson song you might like, Mystery Train (I think that's it) If you have any trouble with the transcription let me know as I'm due to learn a new Chet song anyway.

I've never played anything fingerstyle (not even chord melody stuff) and I'm just too tired and lazy to learn all over again at 41. But congratulations to those of you who can. I really enjoyed those videos. I'll stick with picks and pans. (;

You are really kind thanks a lot. Fingerstyle is really wonderful. I'll remember this Banksia. If I can play it I'll show you.
