Default Where to find live jazz in Miami?

In a couple of weeks I'll be flying to Miami for holidays and I would like to visit some nice jazzclubs and/or concerts and perhaps even a jamsession.Any suggestions for places where to go? Cafés and bars where live jazz is brought? Any jazz clubs? Open jamsessions? Thanks!

Hi Litle Jay,

No, this is not an answer to your question only a bump, but I hope you have a great time there.
Maybe you can Google for : live jazz Miami

Fijne vakantie!

Not many places. In south beach you can try Van Dyke Cafe. Blue Jean Blues in Lauderale is probably the best as they have jazz every night. For the most part jazz is dead here, sorry to say.

Aai, that doesn't sound too promising!
Well, I guess I'll spend more time on the beach then.....
I'm bringing my travel-guitar anyway (and my wife and my little girl for that matter) so I'll have plenty to do, but it would have been nice to visit some cool jazzclubs and even to play in a jamsession...

I will check out Van Dyke's anyway, since my hotel is only a few blocks away from that.

I have an Aria Sinsonido, I believe an AS-100S. The steelstring-model. I fitted .012 flatwounds and with that the feel (not the sound obviously) comes close enough to that of my various jazzguitars, so it's good enough for (quiet) practising during holidays and while traveling. Amplified it's even decent enough to do some jamming! And it breaks down to a convenient small package that gets accepted as handluggage with most airline companies
