| | I am now reading The Gear Page, Telecaster Forum and Jimmy Bruno forum on my Droid with a few apps. Does JGF plan on integrating apps for smart phone viewing?
Maybe I am the only one who thinks this is a good idea.
Cheers,

| | Does anyone have a solution to this. I'd love to read this forum on an iPhone too.

| | Is there a solution for this yet? I know a number of the vbulletin forums are available using the Tapatalk android app. |

| | Here's some technical jargon on Tapatalk. This would cover the bases for all popular handheld operating systems. |

| | I'm also a member of the TDPRI forum,
and use the TDPRI Android app om my Nexus One.
Same question here: Any plans on adding smartphone app capability to the JGF?
Regards

| | I read the forum constantly through my web browser on my old android phone. What exactly are we talking about? I thought the app thing was a marketing tool for big companies who have major bucks to spend to reach more consumers (mostly about having a cool icon on your phone's desktop). How is that doable for a public forum, what are the benefits, and is it really practical?
There are a lot of apps available for web sites that I don't use because they take up huge resources on my phone, and I can't do the things I want because the app interface has far fewer features than simply opening through a browser. For example, you can't do anything with groups on the facebook app. I have to take multiple steps in Gmail to get onto the desktop version to have any real search capability.
What would an app for this forum look like in terms of function, and is there a programmer on here that would be willing to do it? Is paying someone to do it something that's practical in relation to the benefit to dirk?

| | The reality is that on a small Smartphone screen, a full website can be very difficult to navigate as a user. It also has a large data payload which isn't necessary for a small screen or tiered data plans. This has led to the development of mobile websites (WAP websites just for mobile phones) and smartphone apps. Mobile websites and smartphone apps make navigation much easier for the smaller devices. As smartphone use continues to grow, so will the need to have at the very least a mobile website and more likely mobile app. |

| | Big time plus one here. I love the Tpdri app and gretsch pages. They're both the same 'engine'. It would make jazzguitar.be a much smoother experience and just great on iOS. |

| | If anyone is thinking of developing an app for the forum, I don't mind helping out as long as it's in Java |

| | That would be awesome if someone could do this. I'm always using my iPhone and it's a pain using the web browser to check this site. I agree tapatalk would be great. How do we make this happen? | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
