Must Read Idle Moments

Hi All,

I never really liked Jazz until my father became terminally ill and would only play Jazz. Through this experience I came to love it and it is now a part of me.

After my father passed my wife bought me a Jazz guitar to cheer me up. I have never played one before and have since, terrorised my family with my attempts to play it.

It is during this time that I discovered Grant Green in particular, Idle Moments which kinds of says where I am in my life.

To cut a long story short, I have been searching everywhere for the guitar TAB (not chords as I am still learning) to this beautiful yet haunting track.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, I know that there maybe some people that feel that I should learn to read music and this is something that I am aiming towards but, at the moment Tabs are my best friend so please bear with me.

Thank you for all you help guys.

I'm sorry about your father, but look at the bright side! You learned about jazz because of your father so you'll always remember him as long as you play/learn jazz! Another bridge made by music. Have fun.

Hay man, its funny that you should say that as Jazz is now my connection and he'll live on through the music which I now love so much.

I am really loving getting chords under my fingers each one played successfully makes me smile.

Its Idle Moments first then 'Georgia on my mind' (as my dads name was George) and my mum would sing 'Georgie on my mind' to him and laugh. So I'm gonna try and learn both and play it at his memorial.

But most of all, Jazz is life for me now, so free and expressive; and learning to play jazz guitar for me is a world sweats sounds all in the wrong order, my aim is to see those beautiful sounds and put them all in their rightful place !!!
