| | My first Jazz Vid :-) Hey folks,
I have posted a small vid of me playing Autumn Leaves. It's a version I come up with after experimenting and analyzing this piece for about 2 weeks (of course I have also listened to at least a ton of other versions...).
Please excuse some mistakes, I hope you'll like it anyway and let me know what you think.

| | Sick man!
You had some pretty cool little transition runs that adds quite a nice touch.
Kudos. |

| | wow, I really like it! how long have you been playing jazz guitar specifically(if I may ask)? there aren't enough solid versions of autumn leaves on youtube(for jazz guitar). yours is a great example for sure.

I have started to concentrate on Jazz (theory, notereading, chords etc.) about 6 weeks ago and for sure I will follow that trail for a long time. I really enjoy practicing theory and chords, it is such a welcome variation. |

| | your welcome; as constructive criticism I'd say that the lick at 8-9 seconds kind of throws me off, but it could just be me. Everything else flows very well to my ears.
EDIT: hmm, i think its just me because it actually sounds better the more i listen to it...so ya, I dig it haha.

| | I'm also curious as to what method and materials you are using. I am currently enrolled in Jimmy Bruno Jazz Guitar Institute, and I am planning on reading all the Pat Martino materials(Linear Expressions and Creative Force), it's going very well so far, but I'm digging how you arpeggiated those chords, and thats one technique I wish I could learn.

Regarding the above questions:
1. Currently, I am studiying the lessons given on this site here, which is really excellently structured and explained stuff. Additionally I work with the Real Book 5th Edition and Willam Leavitt's guitar method for note reading. Of course I listen to jazz oriented music everyday.
2. I am planning on subscribing to Jimmy Bruno's Guitar Institute.
3. The guitar is a Les Paul Traditional Gold Top (2008) |
