| | Charlie Christian Solo I've been working on this for a little while and using it to get my economy picking up to speed. I think it went pretty well except I rushed a couple of sweeps on it.
the second two choruses are me having a go at the changes. I also used a few times some outside notes I've been learning. some stuff I was happy with but there's loads I need to work on. not much structure to it and I need to relax a lot! I tend to play a lot worse in from of the mic and, I've found that whenever I solo there are some things I like, but rarely do I get a full chorus of good stuff.
anyway, let me know what you think. |

| | It is well, I think the phrasing is achieved.
Always cost more to play in front of the microphone because one always gets more tense.
I really liked.

| | The solo sounds fine but your right hand seems a bit tense. It's hard to make it swing with a backing track but try to make it more ONE..two..ONE..two.
Heavier on the down beat.
Edit;
Actually, it's fine till about half-way in, then you lose the swing feel just a little. I wouldn't worry about it. It sounds fine overall.

| | Sounds great. Isn't CC the best? :-)
As far as technique goes, I could not help but notice that you suffer from the "flyaway pinky" syndrome on your left hand. Every time you pull your pinky away from the fretboard, it goes really far away - no need for that; it's just extraneous movement that slows you down. If, instead, you keep it low above the fretboard you will improve your timing and speed.
Anyway, the reason I point this out is because I am working hard at fixing this in my playing, too. In fact, I might just start a thread about it.
Sounds great though! More Charlie Christian please! |

| | Your techinque, sound and playing is fine. I've found CC and Django to be a good combo. Learning just a few solos/heads of your fav players goes a long way. To this day CC is still the foundation of how I play. You can't go wrong with him. I'm trying to incorporate some Clifford Brown into my CC/ Django thing. It's so hard!
Anyway, nice playing.

Sounds great though! More Charlie Christian please! | I had the pinky syndrome. Practicing the C major scale slowly in a few different positions, very relaxed, and transitioning slowly between chords that may be difficult is what I did/do. Careful not to overdo it. I really hurt my hand at one time. |
