I like this a lot - reminds me of Grant Green. I cut my musical teeth on Bach and other Baroque masters, so wrassling with two part counterpoint in college conditioned me to like this type of music. Call it a lean mean linear-playin' music machine - different from a machine, of course, because most machines I've heard haven't as much innate good taste as this player!
