Default Summertime ... a bluesy take

I cut this a while back on my home computer using a backing track. I sang the lead ... I have a bit of a rough voice ... but I think it worked ok. The intent was to play a "clean-ish" guitar on the front of each solo spot ... then a "driven" P-90 guitar in the last half of each solo. As you can tell, not well thought out on the guitar parts ... jamming basically ... blues or just what I felt.

Summertime (Gershwin Cover) by Ken Dove

Apologetic almost ... although I enjoyed the process at the time. I will be trying to do better and working on some more jazz concepts ... the reason I'm here actually. But here is where I'm beginning.

You sing very well, the guitar part I think that sounds like rock.
I also enjoyed how.

Thanks on the singing comment. I like singing but have to really work at it. It does sound like rock guitar ... or at least heavy blues. When I recorded this I had just finished my first and only amplifier build. That amp is NOT a jazz amp. I just HAD to "push" it a bit and this was what was in the recording process at the time. I wanted to see what a bit of clean and a bit of dirt sounded like so I split each solo. I actually quite liked it in the end ... but it's not a jazz solo at all.

I may post a 3 minute video that shows that amp being built with a proper backing track of it in action. I loved building it ... but I've only built one.
