Glad you're Enjoying it, J. It was a 2 day in and out affair, Studio wise and It came out pretty good. A good Jazz album with plenty of variation, I think.

Thanks again, man.
It is a great CD with a lot of variation. I am planning on listening more this weekend. I love your solos on "Laugh Lines" and "Play the game" as well as all the others. "When you hold her" is a highlight, it is an amazing composition. I really like how it builds and that the climax is still not over the top, then it builds down beautifully. It is really a masterpiece.
Enjoy the warm weather and good luck on the writing, looking forward to the next one.

Mike,
I'd love to hear more about your influences on the guitar.
You really have your own style and sound yet your playing is diverse.
Did you have a rock and blues background before you started playing jazz?

Great playing Mike, really inventive and fluent playing....great band too.....how can such a talented person be SO wrong about Batman?

But seriously.....it's time you got some major recognition.....it's overdue

I started relatively late, Jostein, around 16/17 years old.
Before that I had no interest in playing but listened a lot to many things.
Mostly music my Bro was listening to, which was Rock and folk stuff, Led Zep, Heart, James Taylor, Wishbone Ash, Doobies, Free, Quantum Jump, Peter Green, Etc Etc. At the same time my sister was listening to the Crusaders, Joni Mitchell, John Martin, Gino Vanelli, (Pauper in Paradise and Brother to Brother)
Steely Dan, etc.
Plus my mother liked Frank Sinatra and all the old singers.
So it was a varied pallette.
When I started playing I played by ear. I listened to Wes, Clifford Brown, Larry Carlton, Joe Pass (Catch me Sessions floored me) Stan Getz, and many others.
I started writing only about 15 years ago, in my early 30s.
I was playing in my mid 20s with Kenny Wheeler, Dave Holland, John Taylor etc. My kids came along and I devoted my time to them (wouldn't have it any other way, they are my true Joy). They are grown now and I can spend more time with music again.

I think that's enough of me.

Hope that helps, J.

Mike

Thanks, Rev. With such discerning taste, I struggle with your Super hero choice.
