Default Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

I did a session recently for a Christmas CD for a female vocalist (thankfully one with a great voice). I got the call a day before the session, and the engineer didn't know what keys the songs would be in (The Christmas Song and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas). I did some late night woodshedding on both of the songs.

The next day I showed up, went through a bit of each tune with the singer to find out the style she wanted (Freddie Green vs. contemporary fingerstyle vs. whatever), got mic'd up, and got to play through each tune 4 times and went home.

I wish I'd had more time to prepare, polish, etc. as these were not the easiest tunes in the world to carry on solo acoustic guitar. But they is what they is.

Here is one of the two she put on her ReverbNation page (hopefully the Christmas Song will be up soon).

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas by Erica Lane

I was playing a Dell'Arte dreadnaught tuned down a step.

Thanks for the kind words!

Just FYI, I've just released a new guitar song book, "WE THREE KINGS - Songs Of Christmas For Solo Guitar".

None of the arrangements would be classified as "jazz". Most of them are acoustic fingerstyle arrangements, with a couple Atkins style thumb pick arrangements, and a couple plectrum arrangements.

WE THREE KINGS - Songs Of Christmas For Solo Guitar

Songs I've arranged in this book are:

Silent Night
Away In A Manger
Jingle Bells
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
It Came Upon A Midnight Clear
The First Noel
We Three Kings
O Holy Night
We Wish You A Merry Christmas
O Come All Ye Faithful
O Come All Ye Faithful (variation)
Joy To The World
Angels We Have Heard On High
O Little Town Of Bethlehem
Hark, The Herald Angels Sing

I'll be uploading some vids to YouTube in the near future of these tunes and will post here when I do.

Thx!
