Default Fretboard Evolution - Free chapters from my new book

Hello everyone,

My name is Steve Rieck. I'm a Berklee graduate and guitar instructor at the Atlanta Institute of Music with close to 20 years of teaching experience. I wanted to let you know that I have a book for sale called "Fretboard Evolution". It's designed to fill in the gaps for guitarists who need help with harmony and theory.

There's a free preview edition which contains the first three chapters - covering Understanding the Fretboard, Understanding the Major Scales, The Circle of Fifths and Intervals.

If anyone is interested in purchasing the entire book (in PDF format - over 200 pages / 19 Chapters), It's only $8 (paypal) You can reach me at: info@steverieck.com

In the meantime, feel free to use and share this preview version. Thanks for checking it out!

Hey Steve... I'm sure the books cool... but might get more feed back in either the Lessons,Getting Started or even Improvisation sections... The Showcase is usually for samples of playing etc... Reg

That's my fault Reg, the OP was worried about just looking like a spammer, so I suggested he post here.

If this post gets poor traffic today I'll move it this afternoon.

I think it's good info and presented well. There are a ton of people putting out info and lessons on this site, in addition to the built-in jazz lessons on jazzguitar.be. This is as good as most in my opinion. I'm at a point where "fill the gaps" is very beneficial.
Well done.
I'll consider buying the rest when the budget allows. $8 sounds like a great deal but I still have to stick to my budget or I'll $8 myself to death.

I took the plunge and invested (OK, so I'll never get rich with all this reckless spending,I know, I know...).
No regrets. Paypal was very easy, reply with link to file almost instantaneous (depends on time of day, perhaps...), and download no problem.
The 200 or so pages are quite dense, there's a lot of info. in there. Presentation/page layout agreable enough, with no fancy tricks to distract. I wouldn't dare say that there are no mistakes in there, either typos, tiny points of grammar or music theory blunders, but a rapid read-through shows a consistent, quality text; nice 'flow', no condescention or corny old jokes. The later chapters require a fair bit of attention (unless, of course, the subject is already mastered...), but one is brought up to there in a fairly coherent 'path'.
The explanations and examples are appropriate, and illustrate well the points being presented.
Altogether, I like it, and will doubtless consult quite regularly. I have many other publications, of all sorts, and class this one with the 'keepers'. I may even print it out for binding.
I found it well worth the 8$ I 'invested'.
Hope this helps...

(Unsolicited neutral comments, no link to Steve except as a satisfied customer...)

Thanks so much for the nice review....It is a first revision so I'm working on the typos. I sincerely hope you won't find a theory blunder but I'd be happy to look into or correct anything questionable. Please do let me know. I appreciate it.
