Default Marking My Progress On "Misty"

Upfront . . . I'm no pro, I just play for fun.

I've been working on this chord melody arrangement of "Misty" for awhile now, trying to get the chord grips under my fingers and smoothing it out.

This rendition is still a work-in-progress but I wanted to post it to get some feedback and to mark my progress.

Gear/Signal Chain: '03 Gibson ES-175 > Apogee Duet > iMAC > Garageband

Any and all feedback is Welcome and Appreciated

Not bad. Sounds like the bridge could use some work. I would just keep playing it. Listen to other recordings too. There are great versions of this song all over. You have a good sound.

It's coming together well to my (jazz uneducated) ears, and I can hear the melody coming through in the chord arrangement.

It's not easy doing an unaccompanied recording like this - I like the comfort of a backing track supporting me - I admire the corage of risking the totally exposed sound of your own playing like this.

I was enjoying the guitar tones - I then noticed the gear you're using - the ES-175 is a good choice!

Thanks VikingBlues! For me, getting the melody to "pop out" is always the challenge, so I am pleased by your comment. I appreciate you taking the time to post your comments.

All the good stuff is in there, it just needs to start flowing.
When it does, you're there!

The version that I play is much more straight forward, yours has much more goodies!

Hey Little Jay . . . thanks man, I liked what you said . . . "it just needs to start flowing".

And that's exactly what I'm trying to do!
