Default Ernie Ball Contest

I generally don't compete in these contests, but thought I'd give it a go, see if it generates anything.

Here's why should take the time to press "like" on this video:

1. Promote JAZZ GUITAR. I'm betting this contest will have 500 contestants playing heroic distorted solos. Nothing wrong with that, BUT the guitar kids out there should know that there are other valid ways to play the instrument.

2. It would make me happy.

3. Get more people to like jazz guitar. The more people into jazz, the better for all of us who play it.

Also, I wish more people from this forum would enter this contest. Imagine the face of the jury if suddenly they got 30 jazz guitar entries, I think they might get a bit confused! Haha;-)

So, anyway - The video:

"Like" was duly selected. Nice--your tone alone will differentiate you and hopefully transform that lemon of a backing track into pure, delicious lemonade.

The question of tone reminds me of the one time I actually bought a digital "Modeling" amp--Line 6 Flextone 3--long gone. The clean setting was actually called "Jazz Clean".

A beautiful piece. You played it flawlessly. The double stops and octaves in the second half fit so well. I pressed the "Like" button immediately.

That backing track fits your playing very well here-great orchestral sound. Could I ask what it is, perhaps of your own composition?

Thank you very much!
The piece is a backing track for this contest, I didn't make it.

Woooh! The first thread I look at after joining the forum and I find something as good as this. I love the tones and the note choices / melodic ideas work so well and are played so fluently. Good luck with the contest.
