Default My new jazz blog

Hello. I just started my jazz blog. I will post some lessons and write some articles about different topic, and i hope to get people involved in debates about the article.

My first article (will come in a few days) will be an approach to learn the tune How high the moon.

The blog is still under development, and i have a lot of different ideas of topics which could be interesting to write about and discuss

Let me hear what you think!

Good luck. I'll check out the lesson on "How High The Moon" when you post it.

Thanks!

I've just posted the first article: A lesson or guide to How high the moon.

Go to the bottom of the page for an introduction.

Looking forward to hear what you think,

Best Bjorn

Good evening, Bjorn...
Well done, very nice 'sober' layout, and a very understandable analysis. I appreciated the reference to the Vanilla book as a jumping-off point and approve, as I personally find the Real books to be too complex for the beginner (and I've been a beginner now for over 40 years, so I should know..! ).
Your English is somewhat better than my Swedish, so please don't be offended if I suggest the term 'clashing' rather than 'classing'; just trying to help.
I'm not a fan of Tzigane 'pumping' (in fact rather allergic to it...), but was enchanted by the bass solo version linked. Thanks for that!
All in all, I applaud warmly your effort. Congratulations.

hello Dad3353.

Thanks for your comments, I really appreciate it.
Glad you liked the link with Arvell Shaw. I've been playing a lot of jazz manouche, so I can understand your allergic reactions. Some of the rhythm players are really stressing to listen to! But I think this guy, Mathieu Chatelain, is one of the better ones.
And thanks for notice the class / clash correction!

English is a second language for me, so I've been working hard on the grammar and hope to learn a lot along the way. So any correction in that matter is welcome!

Hello everybody.
I've just finished part two in my blog.
It's improvisation ideas I like to do over the changes, some bebop history, there's some youtube examples, and some exercises I hope some will find useful.

Anyway here it is Bjorn's Jazz guitar blog

Love to hear what you think!

Best
