I bought Rifftracker bundled with Line6’s GearBox which includes the hardware and cable. Your computer speakers or headphones then plug into the Line6 unit which acts like a sort of external sound card. Rifftracker does not transcribe what you have played into it. It’s more like a sort of songwriters multi-track sketch pad with built in drums. It’s designed to record short passages i.e. a verse, bridge or chorus which it loops allowing you to overdub other parts. The sections can be set to be however many bars long you want. You can then drag and drop the sections to form a complete song It will record guitar and bass but the amp models etc for bass in the basic set up are very limited though others can purchased through download. The same applies to the included drum patterns. What it is very useful for is practicing soloing. You can record a rhythm track, guitar, bass, I’ve even plugged a keyboard into it. Then it will loop the section for as long as you like while you blast out all your best licks for hours on end. Try getting the boys in the band to do that for you... You can mix and export the final track as an mp3 |
