Just upgraded from BIAB 2011 Pro to the 2012 Everything Pak. 80 gigs of software - took nearly 48 hours to download using a high speed broadband internet connection! It's installing right now. Can't wait to start using it...

How do you like BIAB 2012 so far? I just ordered the MegaPak, upgrading from BIAB 2008 Pro.

Hey Eddie, 2012 is really good, I think the first thing you will notice are the ReallTracks..

So you can purchase it digitally? What if you, say get a virus and lose the data. Can you download it again?
This option seems interesting because I am skeptical to the version that comes shipped on an external hard drive. Those are notorious of breaking when you carry them around or accidentally drop them.

Eddie-

Ironically, I haven't had a chance to really try it out yet. I started the download Saturday afternoon and it finished downloading Monday morning, but I was at work all day Monday. Monday evening I actually installed it, which took about 30-40 minutes. I played around with it minimally on Monday night but not enough to really do it justice. I think there is lot to this program and I will have to put some time in reading the manual to figure out all the nuances. It does seem to interface a lot easier with Kontakt 4 than BIAB 2011 did. I use K4 as my software synth.

Late day at work today so no BIAB time yet. Just wanted to answer your post before heading off to bed. Have another meeting tomorrow night, then company coming for dinner Friday and Saturday...ARRGGHH! No time for Jazz this week! It's killing me!

Amund-
Yes you can purchase digitally. The purchase process was easy and flawless. They send you the download links immediately by email. They recommend that once you finish downloading and installing the software, you should copy the installer files to an external hard drive to keep in case your computer crashes and you need to reinstall.

I've never used BIAB but constantly hear its' praises, especially from one of my good friends who loves it. I think that I'll get it as a Christmas present to myself.

Default Biab 2012

I have BIAB 2011.5 and am reviewing BIAB 2012 to find out if I would benefit from the upgrade to BIAB 2012.

Just got my BIAB 2012 it in the mail today and loaded it up. Now I have lots of reading and tutorials to catch up with all the features that had been added since BIAB 2008. So far I notice the new realtracks do sound more true to life, my old practice loops sound a lot more like a real band. There's lots of new features, many of which I probably won't use since my primary use of BIAB is to create quick practice loops. Despite this it is still well worth the price IMO. Sure beats the old days of recording numerous 5 minute practice progressions on cassette tape.

Well I must say I am thrilled with the BIAB 2012 Everything Pak. Still have barely scratched the surface but the Real Tracks/Real Drums are PRICELESS. There are so many varied Real Drums styles available. They sound great. I used to use Kontakt 4 as a VST plug-in for playback. Now I don't have to use it at all except for the melodies on the Realbook tracks, and usually I don't even need to have the melody played since I play it myself. The Soloist will generate a new solo for whatever instrument you want and you can practice comping with it. Well worth the discounted price being offered currently.
