Default Is Reaper recording free

Is it a free program and can you save your recordings on your computer. I heard you have to buy it, but... others say it is no problem.

When I bought it in the Spring there was a 30 day free trial and then you had to buy it, the price then was $40. The price has increased since then to, I think, $60. Go to their site to find out for sure.

And yes you save the recordings on your computer.

I applaud Cockos, the company that sells Reaper. They have chosen to not muck up the program with some sort of protection scheme, relying on the honor system where the user pays for the program simply because he believes it is right. I bought Reaper and have used it for over a year now and it has reached a point of being high quality and easy to use. One note on the pricing - the lower tier of registration, $60, includes both non-business use and businesses that make less than $20,000 a year. It's a great program and a unique purchase scheme.

So you can get it free, but should pay for it. Is that what you are saying. I'm all for paying for it, if I can send them cash. Still don't have a credit card to my name.

Yes - that is pretty much how they are selling the program. They do in fact have a non-credit card option -

REAPER | Purchase

The above page should give the details.

I'm a fan of Reaper, both the software and the company and the user community.

There license that I got for $40 is one user multiple computers. I have it on my desktop and my laptop. The license also includes hundreds of free upgrades...

The deal is so good, this is the kind of company that should get our support.
