| | I picked this up last week - fantastic product. I was going to buy BIAB, but this is so much more practical (and cheaper) since all I need is my iPhone...no need to move the computer to within cable's reach of the stereo, etc. With this and the Amazing Slow Downer on my iPhone, it's a lot easier to do 'productive' practice. I steal licks via ASD, learn the heck out of them, then choose a suitable tune from iRealB, loop the heck out of it and play the lick until I own it, then start mixing up the lick, etc. I think 2012 will be a very productive year for me musically and these tools are definitely a big help. |

| | Have any of you guys used it on a gig? if so..how did it do?
I've been using BIAB (making CD's of my back-up Jazz arrangements)
and using them on my solo gigs. Those sound very good.
If the i Real book app is good enough to use LIVE, I think a switch may be in order. |

| | Hi,
I have had I real b on my Ipad for a few weeks and it is incredible. The tracks have drums, piano and bass. You can adjust the volume level for each. You can choose how many choruses you want and loop as many bars as you want. You can set the tempo for any tune. The chords are pretty close to the real book chords.
With the app you get 3 styles; latin, swing and pop. You can purchase an upgrade that gives more styles. Not sure if there is enough variety to use on a gig; maybe. I have saved tons of time from Band in a box; typing in all the chords, sifting through all the options, etc... and real b is only like $7. You can't lose! |

| | GigPro is a great app that works well with iRB. Make ordered set lists and scroll through them with a touch... very fast and super convenient. |

I've recently bought BIAB 2012 Everything Pack and I'd like to have some insight on what styles should I look for, just to have a very basic foundation.
I'm in Italy, so you don't need to fear any competition from me! LOL!
Hoping in hearing from you,
Yours very truly,

Yours very truly, | Sorry this took me so long to respond to. I had to download a file converter to change from wav to Mp3, so that I could put a couple of back-up tracks on this post!
After I do an arraignment, I try diff. Real Jazz Styles until I find one that sounds right to me. Then I Freeze the song and render it to wav.
Once you have 7 or 8 songs(backing tracks) rendered you can burn them onto a CD. Here is my version of Fly me to the moon and Norwegian Wood. I will see if I can get the chord charts on here too.
Well..I tried to put the 1st Mp3 on but it didn't' work! I'll figure it out and get them to you. Maybe you can message me with your email address and I can send them that way.? |

| | Is it possible to use amp models/software instruments from Garage Band and have iReal playing tune in background at same time?
I have iPad2, Garage Band, free version of Ampkit and Ampkit link interface. For digital piano I have camera connection kit to control GB instruments.
Making .wav from backing and then importing it to Garage Band track will probably work and then I'll be able to do recording too, right? |

| | I was at an educational music camp last week and there were at least a dozen iPads with iRealB. A singer wanted to do J'Attendrai in Eb. We played the YouTube video of Django playing it so everybody could get a feel for the tune, pulled up the iRealBook chart and with two touches it was in Eb (or the number system if you prefer).
If there had been only one iPad available, we could have plugged it into a TV and done the same thing on the big screen. Amazing! |

It appears to be working same time with Garage Band! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
