Default Fifthless voicings in BIAB?

Does anyone know how to get BIAB to play fifthless voicings?

I cant for the life of me figure out how to input custom chords and what I'm finding on google is saying you cant. Surely thats not true is it?

you can't do custom chords as far as I can tell. The only way to simulate it is with slash chords and even then there's no guarantee

Not me, it's an amazing program and does a lot. Even still, I've always considered it a program to use for practice.

Regarding no 5ths, I don't know how to do that, but you can play with just the drums and bass. That leaves you plenty of room to improvise without clashing with a 5th voiced above the bass range.

In addition, it's really easy to record your own comping along with just the bass and drums, and leave the 5ths out to your hearts content.

i recently bought a digitech jamman looper. I find it much more satisfying to play over than BIAB

You could always write the piano part yourself, say in the melody track, mute the piano track, then play along with the drums and your part.
Then use a midi bass and edit out the fifths, or use real track bass and edit the file( delete the fifths) then freeze the file to prevent regeneration.

Default Biab chords.

Tom: That works very well for writing your own voicings. It's also great for making up chord melodies. I have used that process a few times and I use it mostly to study comping techniques.

I notice from the advertising videos that there is a "notation mode". Can't you enter on the staff and/or tab the notes of whatever chord you want, and have the program play them?

These people that sell this stuff are very clever at not answering the most obvious questions, to the extent of pretending it never occurred to them that they would arise. Taken a step further, they will conceal their shortcomings under a mat of geek blabber which translates to "our product doesn't do it."

You might use some of the Freddie Green Styles for comping and adjust them as needed and then save them as a custom style. You can also import midi files as custom styles.

Of course, to get exactly what you want, do all the comping yourself on piano or guitar.
