Hmm... Not that I know of.

I use Audacity for encoding mp3 files.

What happened to your computer?

I've used it on both Mac and PC no problems. Probably something with your configuration.

I haven't DL'd it recently, but I use Audacity quite frequently without issue. Have you done a virus/malware scan to check for same?

I've been using Audacity for a couple of years. First with XP Pro and now with Windows & on a new pc. I haven't had any issues, at all.

I'm curious, why would you have Audacity on your Mac when you can use Garage Band?

Default audacity

I recently downloaded and started using audacity with no problems at all. IMHO, probably the best freebie available.

I've been using audacity for a long time. However, I have to find something else to use as it doesn't seem to work properly on my system. Any other linux users here? any recommendations for free recording software?

I've never had an issue with it.

I use Audacity with Linux, and in fact do all my recording with Linux these days. I use Audacity for mastering and format conversions.

For multi-tracking I use Ardour. There are some tricks to setup, so be prepared to spend some time on the initial configuration.
