Thanks, all the best Bjoern | There are a number of videos of him playing live on youtube, but there is a ton of live audio available.

| | Books I have a couple of his books, I bought them years ago and have learned a lot from them. If you can read standard music notation and have the patience and desire to learn about Joe's approach, I will send them to you. Just PM me with your postal address. His playing is so dense (yet seemingly effortless) that it can be tough to pick things up from recordings. In fact it took me a while to be able to play from the sheet music! |

| | I assume you are talking to me no I have some 12 bar blues and some swing that he composed thats about it for me Thank you anyways.I had listened to Freddy Green his guitar was so cool kept the whole band together and he did't do any leads.I noticed Joe pass kind of extended his mode of playing so did half the Jazz guitar world so I'am kind of sticking with Freddy Green when I study.

| | I have a couple of his dvds, Jazz Lines and An Evening With Joe Pass.
I also have the one he does with Roy Clark. And it was Joe's suggestion they play all Hank Williams tunes. Joe plays some great stuff on these easy progressions. John Pisano plays rhythm, Colin Bailey of drums and I can't remember the bass player.
Fun to watch. |

| | Joe Pass Guitar Strings - What were they? Hello Jazz Guitar Community. Does anybody know what kind of strings Joe Pass used on his mid-1970s "Virtuoso" recordings? I love his tone. It's so pure and natural; just a man, a guitar, and an amp in front of a mic. His touch was the beginning of his tone, but the next link in the tone chain was his strings. Anybody know what he was using? |

I'm pretty sure that he had a few profiles in Guitar Player magazine and they might have asked about gear. |

| | Badb,
The concert that you refered to was a BBC Broadcast which hasn't (as far as I am aware) ever been issued on DVD. It was part of a series that OP did for the BBC. There was another show in which Joe played and I believe that they were joined by John Williams on that occasion.
I have transferred it from my VHS tapes to a DVD.
Joe was playing his D'Aquisto at that time.
