 Some questions on Tal Farlow His music and tone is a big inspiration for me. I have not seen much of the footage of him playing though. I didn't realise that he was such a 'thumb over the top' man. YouTube - Tal Farlow - The Legendary Guitar of Tal Farlow DVD Has anybody got the hotlicks dvd featured here? I am thinking of getting it, but I won't playing with the thumb over the top... My other question concerns his sound - what sort of amp did he generally use? My guess on setting would be amp volume up high and on-guitar volume down low. Do the Tal Farlow gibsons have a laminate or carved top? NL     |

| Tal Farlow was awesome. There's videos of him on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...rch_type=&aq=f Pat Martino plays with his thumb over the top all the time too. Maybe they know something? Last edited by Drumbler : 02-05-2010 at 07:01 AM. |
