it took a long time to grow on me, but i like deep song quite a bit.

my fave kurt is as a sideman though, on chris potter's vertigo.

Personal preference of the albums I've heard (tthey are all great imo)

Next Step
Deep Song
Heartcore
Eastcoast Love Affair

have yet to hear the new trio but the bootlegs I've got are all excellent.

Deep Song is, I think, his best all-around. It's my favorite, at least, and definitely his most mature and well-rounded. From then on, it depends on the mood I'm in:

For intensity, The Remedy.
For cozy listening, one of the trio albums.
For when I'm sick of jazz, Heartcore.
For when I feel like listening to something I may someday be able to play, Intuit.
For when I feel like listening to something I'll never be able to play, The Next Step.

They're all great. And Jake, if you ever want to swap boots, I've got a fair few and I'm always looking for more ;-)
