Great lists here!

Some others, that are not my alltime favourites (no, those are -how surprisingly- Wes, Kenny, Grant, etc) but that I discovered recently and are being listened to a lot lately:

Toots Thielemans (on guitar! his early albums)
Sacha Distel (the French jazz guitarist before his relationship with Brigitte Bardot and becoming a popular chansonier)
Tiny Grimes (Chuck Berry invented rock'n'roll? Forget it! Tiny did!)
Elec Bacsik (a Hungarian cousin of Django Reinhardt)

And how could I forget Henri Salvador?

This man sings all his lines along and makes me realize that a strong melody of 10 notes is much more pleasant to listen to then a 1000-note-technical-high-flight...

His album "Salvador plays the blues" always brings a smile on my face! (Like it did on his too if you can believe the album-cover ;-)

ya there are Lots of monsters all out there.

I thought it was cool to see Bruce Cockburn on a list.definitely one of my heroes.(super nice guy as well)
What a song writer (yes lots of cheese as well)but his rhythms are very difficult to sing along with, the way he does it.(for me at least)

a lot of the players I listed are the ones who turned me on to guitar and led me to love playing.I'm sure many of the others on these lists will be future influences on me.

OK, I'll start with me on my list.

It's hard figuring out who's the best so as to NOT include them on the list. IF there's a "The Best", that excludes everyone else, a concept I can't deal with.

Here's another 10, some mentioned previously, others maybe not:

Mundell Lowe
Chuck Wayne
John Pizzarelli
James Burton
Michael Hedges
Clarence White
William Ackerman
Pat Metheny
Jimmy Page
Jimi Hendrix

Kind of a gamut here, from Lowe to Ackerman to Hendrix, but hey, my favorites, right?
