Gear Bireli's sound

I wonder if anyone has information on how Bireli gets his sound for straight ahead jazz guitar.
Now, being Bireli to begin with is 99% of it, the rest being gear.
It's the gear part I'm inquiring about. He has that crystal clear Benson tone going on. Does anyone know what string gauge he uses? What amps he favors?

Any information about Bireli's setup is greatly appreciated.

He is phenomenal, isn't he.

There was a site that said he used a Roland Jazz Chorus for his quote, "crystal clear sound." Here it is but it has been down.

Another site stated that he endorses pignose amps.

A good question would be does he use the same amp for straight-ahead jazz as he does for gyspy music.

I am sure someone will tell us.

Never seen him with Pignose amps, but often with Roland Jazz and
smaller vintage Fender(Deluxe-mainly in France).
And he uses the rounded edge of the pick(like Vic Juris and Pat Metheny)to
get more omph (a smoother attack) from the guitar.

I think one of the secrets is that he uses Gipsy-playing techniques as well whilst playing straight-ahead jazz. It's not a question of gear in the first place. If you use rest-strokes, adjust your right hand to the "pompe manouche", don't play in positions but across the neck, use Major/Minor 6th chords instead of 7th etc. you will get much closer to it. Unfortunately, it won't come easy...

Default Bireli's sound

I think one of the secrets is that he used to play tricks, gypsy and jazz while playing straight ahead. This is not a gear problem in the first place. If the rest of the move, adjust your right hand, "Pompe manouche", do not fight in the position, but the whole neck, with the major / minor sixth chord, instead of the seventh, etc., you will get closer. Unfortunately, it is not easy ...
