Default Martino Unstrung: Pat Martino Documentary

Just got this for Christmas. What a fabulous look into Pat's life story.

For those of you who don't already know, Pat suffered a brain aneurism in the middle of his career and experienced total amnesia. He studied his own records and revived his brain into remembering his methods.

Anybody else seen it?

yeah I bought it when it became available, amazing piece of work. I lend it out to students and peers all the time who want to get more into Pat's music... understand the man, makes an impact.

Can someone tell me where the heck I can buy this thing? I know it that it deals more with the man and not the music, but I am still interested in it.
Thanks.

And a very, very odd independent film maker at that. Some of the extras that he included are extremely odd and not necessary at all. Theres a 30 second clip of Pats wife talking about food.

Food has always been important to Pat, and his wife's attention to his diet was very important to his recovery.

Martino fans will want to check out 'Here and Now', Pat's new autobiography (co-written with Bill Milkowski): http://www.amazon.com/Here-Now-Autob.../dp/1617130273

I got my copy for Christmas. It's a fairly short read (I blitzed it in an afternoon). Some of the information I seem to recall reading in Pat's thread on the Allaboutjazz forum. The book is bulked out with an illustrated discography, interviews with the director of 'Martino Unstrung' and the surgeon who operated on Pat, a few pages of notable guitarists sharing their thoughts about Pat and his music and a 'sacred geometry' lesson that appeared in Guitar Player magazine.

That must have been the previous documentary, Open Road.

Martino Unstrung was released in 2008.
