Default Kenny Burrell, which strings did he use, Midnight Blue?

Flats? Gauge? I understand he likes a lighter string, perhaps I don't have that right.

That might be difficult to find out, since that is a very old recording. At one time, he used Gibson round-wounds, fairly heavy, back in those days.

Funny that Kenny is one of those guys whose sound is immediately recognizable and I've never heard anybody else cop that same sound. Not muddy, kind of a midrange "honk" but not strident.

I have heard him quoted in later years that he used 11's flatwound. But I don't know if he used that for Midnight Blue. That should not be so important as you won't be sounding like Burell by mimicking his gear anyway. Go for what you like yourself for YOUR sound.
