Default Jazzblues?

I started to watch this expecting to hear pure blues, but somewhere along the line it seemed to melt into jazz.
So what is it apart from being excellent music jazz or blues?

Perhaps I should just enjoy it.

well its not loud electric blues thats for sure. most of it was very simple.

however, relative to 3 or 4 chord blues there were some richer harmonies thrown in occasionally and there were also a few phrases that went beyond the typical BB blues style vocabulary.

i guess you could call it "jazzy blues".

For me it sounds jazzy from the get go because of the way he swings and you can tell what chord he's soloing over, this would be true even if you were able to mute the background.

He is aware of the underlying chords and how to play he's lines to highlight important chord tunes. He's also using some chromatic tones in his lines. This is all more of a jazz-blues approach than a rock-blues approach.
