| | Who was the guitarist in Bird's group? It sounds like Charlie Christian from what I know, I haven't got many recordings of him though so I may be wrong. All I know is I've got the omnibook recordings (just the head and Bird's solo's), then on a different album (15 reflective recordings of Miles Davis) there were a lot of the same recordings, but with the added benefit of Miles and this other guitarist's solos. Who was this guitarist? Also what group was this, what albums are they from? I need to get the actual albums. |

As a kid, he definitely had a bit of a Charlie Christian sound and he did play for Charlie Parker some.
I don't know for certain, but I don't think there are any recordings of Charlie Parker and Charlie Christian together. |

| | I think Remo Palmier played with Parker and he was one of the most tasteful guitarist of the time IMHO. Chuck Wayne, Efferge Ware, Tiny Grimes (tenor) are some other names of guitarists that played with Parker. Barry Galbraith probably did too. |

Billy Bauer is definitely pictured with Charlie Parker.
I had a CD of Billy Bauer. Can't find it now. Definitely a New York style player that had some lines reminding me of Johnny Smith on the CD I had.
His Auto-biography, "Sideman," is still available from his estate: Billy Bauer's Music Home Page |
