Default A pat metheny jazz guitar lick

Hey I'm wondering if anyone has figured out Pat Metheny's repition lick? I've heard him do it live numerous times, it happens very briefly on the Studio Bright Size Life in Missouri Uncompromised at 1:43-1:46 and again at 2:43. I've also heard Django, Jimmy Herring, and Trey do it. I think Phish does it at the David Bowie climax if I'm not mistaken. It sounds like a great picking excercise, any help would be appreciated.

Has anybody found what they think is a pretty definitive correct version? Some are using triads and some are seventh chords, but the picking pattern is what really catches me off.

Any suggestions?

Didn't Morten do a video on this, too? (I think he and Jack differ in their interpretation of what the picking pattern is, as I recall.)

Yes M-ster, he did. Morten's approach is somewhat different. He is a beast!

Has anybody gotten this thing up to working speed? I'm just starting to practice it.

Is there a picking pattern you guys prefer? I'm actually getting used to 1 down, and then 2, 3, and 4 all in a single upstroke rake. I just wanna practice the best pattern from the start.
