| | Adrien Moignard -- is this cat even human?! Have you fellas heard of Adrien Moignard?
I just heard about him tonight, and I am totally blown away. He seems to play mostly a modern acoustic gypsy style, but even if that's not really your thing, you really should check him out. He has some "poor" quality videos on youtube [i.e. they are live and apparently recorded with a cheap phone], but they are good enough to showcase his incredible playing style and *impeccable* technique. He's just too incredible as a player, and it's obvious that his passion is in actually playing music...
If you got some time to spare today/tonight you should go check him out right now. |

Download "selmer 607" immediately if you haven't. |

| | Man. I saw the topic, and I laughed really hard. Jazz lingo made your phrase so funny. Is this cat even human. Just thought I'd point that out to you.
In all seriousness, thanks for the heads up, sounds like an interesting playing style. I'll be sure to listen up on him. |

| | O.k. now. I just checked this guy out and I know the situation. This cat is not human. It's like in the movie Men In Black were Tommy Lee Jones said. Elvis didn't die, he was simply an alien who just went to his home planet. In this case, Django didn't die either. He just went back to his home planet and now he came back in a younger looking body. Yeah, that's it. That's the ticket.
jckoto3 is exactly spot on when he says even if Gypsy jazz is not your usual choice, you have to appreciate what this guy can do. I could listen to him for hours without getting tired. There's another clip on YouTube where he's playing a regular electrified archtop. It's beautiful. He's got a great command of his guitar. Well worth the time finding him and listening. |

| | Yeah, Adrien Moignard is really mindblowing.
But if you like him, you should also check out Sebastien Giniaux, the two of them have played a lot together, and Sebastien Giniaiux is just as great, but with his own style. He can mix coltrane lines with balkan stuff and make it sound convincing. |

| | Oh man, I hadn't seen those vids with Bergara...damn that's good stuff.
I love when guys have the ability to cut your head clean off, but they save it. Moignard is chops and class.
And yes--Sebastain Gineaux is a monster too--he's on that "Selmer 607" record too...one of the best records I've bought in the past year. |

I'd love to see this kid play with Bireli. Couldn't find anything.
