Default Pat Martino newbie - first album purchase?

Just now hearing a little bit of Pat on youtube and now want to purchase an album or two. Suggestions as to which ones I should start with?

My favorite Martino: Consciousness (great rendition of Impressions), El Hombre, and Live at Yoshis

We'll Be Together Again +1.

That was the first one I heard, and I fell in love with it. Led me to the rest of Pat's work eventually.

WBTA is still my favorite, even though it's probably not the most representative or iconic of the full range of Martino's work, imho.

It's very laid back, very down tempo, but it has the coolest, heaviest, thick foggiest, late night, ready to drift off feel of any recording I've ever heard. It's just magical.

But if you just want a "greatest hits" type of CD, "Pat Martino Cream" is pretty cool too. You get "Sunny" and "Send in the Clowns" and a bunch of other great tunes. Can't miss. Sound samples here:

I love "Interchange." I got as part of a 2-fer with another title that escapes me. They might have been on the Muse label. Anyone else familiar with "Interchange?"

Jim Hall

I'm a big fan of Live at Yoshi's. Pat really lock in with Joey D. and Billy Hart. It's really intesne stuff.

Stone Blue is more fusion-eque than anything else I've heard from Martino, but solid throughout. I love the opener: "Uptown Down."
