Default Robin Nolan

I don't know much about this guy other than the emails I get from him every so often offering insights and lessons on gypsy jazz. I happened to open the last one on a GJ version of "Tainted Love".

I'm sold that he knows his stuff. Has anyone taken the formal lessons from him?

Robin Nolan is a really skilled jazz guitarist. He is best known for his gypsy playing , but he do other styles too. He seems very nice and generous, sharing his knowledge on YouTube. I’ve learned quite a few gypsy cowboy tricks from him. Last friday he airplayed live the recording of his latest CD ”Tainted Love”. His trio recorded in a very cozy studio in Amstedam. It was a tremendous experience to watch. You can find it here:

During the late 1990s I had a chance to see and listen to his trio performing a street gig on Leidseplein in Amsterdam. His sound was something special as he was playing (amplified gipsy guitar) with plectrum on plastic strings. If I remember it correctly, there were already two or three ceedees for sale. I have his "The Street" recording and I still love the sound of this kid dressed like a skater ... OK, he is not a kid anymore and his outfit is now smarter.
Since there was - I think - an implied question within your question, please, rest assured that there is nothing fake about Robin Nolan's talent and musical prowess.

That's good to hear. Based on the little bit I had seen of him so far, I could tell he had talent. I guess I was just curious if it was genuine (as you indicated) or just show to sell lessons.
