Default Kevin Eubanks

His new album "Zen Food" has some pretty great tracks, good writing, and his soloing gets pretty ferocious at times. Good to see him getting more active these days, it almost seemed like a shame having a great guitarist like that confined to the limits of a talk show.

I don't know the tv man.
But I have the live CD "opening night", and it's very very good music !

Working the show like The Tonight Show is the ultimate gig. Last I talked to anyone doing one of those show they said they show up about noon then get a run down of the show for that night. They rehearse the night music on there own. Then take a break and after that if there is a guest artist they have shown up and they rehearse with them. After that the show does a quick run through. Dinner break and back at 4pm to tape the show. They get out in time that most still do gigs around town.

So high pay, cool hours, and still have time to gig if you want.

I saw Eubanks perform last year. Super nice guy and he and his band tore it up!

THere's a great interview with Kevin in the February issue of Just Jazz Guitar. There's a picture of him holding his solid body guitar built by Abe Rivera. Its a six string but looking at the picture of the back of the neck, it really looks wide.

Anyway, great article.
