For me, Willie is more of a choice of him- as a composer whose primary instrument is guitar. When you look over the tunes he has written and see how many hits he wrote for other people - it is pretty amazing. As a technician on a guitar- maybe it is more of an acquired taste. In an interview with a local television show, one of the hosts asked Willie if he "really felt it that much- or just had a bad sense of rhythm." Willie laughed pretty hard-

They're my two favorite non-jazz guitarists.

Guthrie Govan
Greg Howe

You know who's an underrated player, a player who left his mark for damn sure? Alessandro Alessandroni.

Look him up, guys!

I still dig some of the oldschool bluesy guys occasionally: Jimi, Santana, David Gilmore, SRV, Jimmy page.

I used to listen to stuff like Steve Lukather, Vai, Satriani but it's been quite some time since I actually listened to it.

Besides that I do like some classical, flamingo, bosa and other stuff but it's really hard for me to say who are the better ones....

Best rock/blues solo ever in my book is Jimi's All along the watchtower :P

Two of my favorites. Kath and Felder both brought a lot to their respective bands. Chicago has never been the same since he died and, IMHO, the Eagles are not the same without Felder.

BB has serious chops though most of his solos are minimalist.
Cray is fantastic IMHO.
Chet == Mr. guitar in my book. He's the main reason I wanted to play guitar. I wanted to be Chet, still do.

I really admire Brian Setzer. He's clean and has great technique. He reminds me of Johhny Smith when it comes to technique.

Tommy Emmanuel is an amazing player and a very decent man.
