I just bought Solid Air and wow what an album. Gorgeous vibe throughout. may you never is one of those utterly devastating tunes at the same time as being incredibly uplifting!

Classic for sure. Martyn always had a jazzy thing going on. Danny Thompson on bass also makes the album so good. The title track was written for Nick Drake. Check out his albums too if you're into fingerstyle. Lots of very innovative and influencial music. Unusual voicings, cool right hand patterns; open tunings, etc...

John also had the great free jazz drummer John Stevens in his band for a while.
