I just watched this algorithm applied to the Major scale. It is an interesting idea. I have heard things like this before, but the results were not as pleasant.

Any feedback?

Pretty cool if you ask me! It's surprising that it sounds that musical.

The camera work reminds me of "Multiple Sidosis"

You can harmonize anything so it fits any melody if you have the freedom to use rhythm

YouTube - ‪Kate Bush - Pi‬‏

You can even put speech into musical context:

And this is what being able to compose on a form is about.

You know, it reminds me of parts of Tubular Bells, coincidence? Maybe Oldfield understood this intuitively like Pollack 'understood' fractals.

Good analogy Bill. I like that idea a lot. I like Mike and I liked Jackson.

Mr Hornet, love the link.
Back in the day the 'obligitory teenage rock band (thinks; great band name!)' I was in we used chord names written on bits of paper that were randomly plucked from a container, we found that idea would work mainly with 5th chords. Later on we used 8 sided gaming dice. I guess it seems we had too much time on our hands!

Nice method of madness. Yet totally sane and logical. I never thought of doing that back in our obligatory teenage band days.
