Books Music for Guitar and Cajon

Hi there everyone.

My band's drummers got a new cajon and at the moment, I like to jam with him along- just the two of us (drummer: cajon, me: acoustic guitar).

We don't know what we should really play- a blues with one guitar is an option but we more or less wanted to do some other styles than jazz - haven't heard of a cajon in the jazz scene.

In any case I thought perhaps anyone in this forum has played with a drummer using a cajon before and can recommend a book or some songs. The kind of music: I've got only 2 hands so it shouldn't be written for two guitars; we like funk, flamenco, and just groovy stuff- perhaps we want to play that stuff at a gig sometime- so it would be cool if it sounds good without somebody singing along.

Thanks in advance!

take anything--I mean anything, and just give it a latin feel.

I regularly play standards with a drummer who plays cajon. Lots of fun, and it's cool not to be regimented to a "swing" feel all the time.

You mean Real Book standards? I think you're right but who's playing the melody part?

You, as guitarist, should be able to play the melodies as well as bass and chords. If not, you have the perfect opportunity to learn!
