Default Buffalo, New York - Looking for jazz " enthusiast "

Is there a guitarist ( six string ? ) in the Buffalo area that would like to get togeather a few times a month to play and/or experiment with jazz standards and/or our own compositions. I would classify myself as an amateur/intermediate guitarist. I have just started reading/writing sheet music but have played a guitar off and on for a quite few years. My chord work is more developed than my solos. I enjoy playing chords and creating and using chord progressions as well as chord melodies. I don't "know" any songs in the strict sense of the word...but have played quite a few standards in chord melody form. I need musical input from someone else in order for me to grow musically. I use Band-In-a-Box software and also have a four track digital recorder. But I get tired of hearing myself and would appreciate someone else's ideas. I enjoy talking about music and learning why something sounds good rather than just playing it. Please email me or post a repy in this forum. Many thanks.........
Gregg

Hey gregg, I live in Lancaster NY suburb of Buffalo. I started playing a guitar a couple of years ago, but usually play upright bass. Anything from rockabilly, swing, jazz and old blues.

I get together with some jazz guys on thursday nights. If you want to get together, send me an email.

I'm a bit farther to the west (LeRoy) but would be interested. I've been playing for over 30 years, been out of things for quite a while, but ready to start rolling again. Since I'm not a college-age guy it's tough to find people interested in jazz who aren't pro-level.
