 Free Improv explorers in Boston, want to get together? Hey there, I'm looking for some musicians based in Boston that might be interested in getting together and playing in a more free improvisation setting rather than strictly tunes. Tunes are great, jazz is fine, but I'm looking to develop improvisational skills that really test the ears, connecting and imagination skills. We might work with short periods of time, 3 minute improvs. We might suggest a rough approximation of sonata form: theme, development, repeat, new theme... We might see what Stella can become when the bar lines are erased. We might find something completely new that inspires some new compositions. I don't know, but I've been doing this for a little while and it's a very powerful tool. I'd like to find others around Boston that feel similarly. Maybe do something at the Outpost if we want. Anyone up for Free Improv in Boston? David     |
