Default beginner(ish) in milwaukee

New to jazz, not new to guitar. Looking for someone to practice/ jam with. I can lay down chords on a looper and practice solos over that but it's not a substitute for actually playing with someone. I find myself in a difficult spot in that it's hard to find someone at the same level as me (again, beginner-ish). most people my age, 40, already have their stuff together and might be frustrated by playing with me. But, I don't see getting a whole lot better without playing with other people. Isn't that what jazz is all about? If you're in or around Milwaukee, let me know if you're interested.

Hey Miken, I'm in Milwaukee too. Do you do any Django? I'd be interested in getting together maybe twice a month to jam and see where it leads. I've been practicing a lot trying to learn styles other than gypsy.

Stevebol,
Mostly I'm working on chords and melody for basic standards. I am really a beginner at jazz. I just feel that playing with people will help me to know what I don't know. If that makes sense. I do dig Django and the acoustic sound. I would not say that I'm working any one particular style. Please feel free to email me at michaelenielsen@yahoo.com

Sounds good. Maybe we could each come up with a short list of tunes we could work on. I've been working on solo stuff so I'll need a couple days to get it together. Need to re-string my guitars too.
I have plenty of sheet music so I might have songs you're working on. My email is; nevets@milwpc.com.
