Hi from DC

I'm in the DC area, Takoma Park (MD) specifically.
Been playing just about 3 years but given
how much I practice I've come a long way already.
Spent the first year just teaching myself everything from scratch, and have been playing regularly with an instructor over the last year and half or so.
Recently participated in the 3-day MD summer jazz clinic, which was fun.

One thing I don't get to do enough of is play with others, and I think that's holding me back. It's seems to be the case with improv. I study like crazy so my intellectual theory side is beyond the vocab in my fingers. Basically, my soling is *not so good* right now but I'm trying to get better.

I'd be interested in getting together w/1-2 adults (I'm in my late 30s) a couple of times a month just to practice... play some heads, share ideas, vamp a bit w/out too much pressure

So, I thought I'd try posting here first before I consider the creepiness of craigslist.

Don't know if you ever found anything, but I'm in a similar position in Arlington, VA. Plenty of books, not enough live musicians to play with. If you're still interested in jamming reply or send me a PM.
