| | Wow Dirk, this website was excellently constructed. I see the forums have only been up for about 6 months, but they are growing at exponential speed. Hope to see future success for this website!

| | To make a thread, click on what forum you want it in first. Then go to New Thread on the left side above the topics. Then, make a title and then post what you want to say and click on Submit New Thread. I think thats it!!

| | New Member I hail from Portland Oregon area. My real name is Tony and I am just starting to play again after a Three year break. Most of my learning has come from personal lessons including 2 years of study with Jerry Hann.
My guitar for playing jazz is my Grimes Kula Rose. My playing is strickly for personal enertainment and joy. I like working out or learning new chord melodies. Not so good at playing leads ( Yet ).
Nice to meet everyone and look forward to learning. |

| | Fingerpicking Jose'
If you understand and can read classical guitar music, perhaps you will find Charlie Byrds' Book 'Bossa Nova by the Birds'? (I think)interesting. The selections are written in standard classical guitar notation,(no tabs) but there are some chord diagrams to make things a little easier. There are some killer arrangements like 'Desifinado' in the book however, I don't know if it's still in print. You could try sheet music dot com., otherwise, e-bay or one of those kind of places might have a copy. As for 'fingerpicking', just about any flamenco method and somd beginning classical guitar methods will have a section on 'Appoyando' and 'Picado' strokes. At first these will probably seem kind of stiff (of course) but 15-30 minutes of practice, as a warm-up each (and every) day for a couple of weeks will render remarkable and profound results......Uncle Walt |

| | Si Senor That is the one you want. I think I paid about $6.00 bucks for it originally, if you can get a deal on a copy in good shape....GET IT!! You won't be sorry. Another arrangement I have been playing with is 'Fly Me to the Moon'. You should have a lot of fun with this one!....Uncle Walt | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
