Newbie! let me introduce my self...

Hope I can learn more about jazz and blues.
for being my first post, I'm studying harmonic voicing, If someone has info about the chord alt. (alternate) let me know.

Welcome aboard!

The chord symbol alt is short for altered. It comes from the 7th mode of the melodic minor scale.

When used to build a chord it gives a 7th chord with all possible alterations

R b9 #9 3 b5 #5 b7 R

or in the case of a C7alt

C Db Eb E F# G# Bb

or stacked like a chord it looks like:

C E G Bb Db Eb F# G#
