 let me introduce my self... Hope I can learn more about jazz and blues. for being my first post, I'm studying harmonic voicing, If someone has info about the chord alt. (alternate) let me know.     |

 Welcome aboard! The chord symbol alt is short for altered. It comes from the 7th mode of the melodic minor scale. When used to build a chord it gives a 7th chord with all possible alterations R b9 #9 3 b5 #5 b7 R or in the case of a C7alt C Db Eb E F# G# Bb or stacked like a chord it looks like: C E G Bb Db Eb F# G# MW |
